Lectures & Shows, LLC

I have many shows and lectures to offer you and your
organization.  All,
except "Cap'n Dave's Fossil Show"
will require you to provide a computer and a projector
capable of using Power Point.  If you don't see one that
you like then please let me know.  I can develop new
shows to meet your needs.
"What Jurassic Park Got Wrong"
Ages:  All ages (although best for 8 on up)
Time:  30-120 min, depending on your needs.

This is my most requested show.  I discuss the
science behind the dinosaurs in the popular
movie series and show you what the
producers changed and got wrong with the
animals.  A great show for all audiences.
"T. Rex:  Predator or Scavenger?"
Ages:  8 on up
Time:  30- 45 min

This is my most serious and scientific show.  I
explore the theory (of only one paleontologist)
that the most famous dinosaur of all time was
a 10-ton walking vulture rather than an active
hunter.  A great show for true dino nuts.
"Dinosaurs on the Big Screen"
Ages:  8 on up
Time:  About 45 minutes

Dinosaurs have been a favorite topic of
movies almost since the invention of the
motion picture camera.  In this lecture I show a
history of dinosaurs in Hollywood and how
these images have effected our perception of
these prehistoric beasts.
"Cap'n Dave's Fossil Show"
Ages:  All Ages
Time:  About 30 - 90 minutes depending on
your needs

This show was designed for places and
organizations that don't have projectors and
computers.
I use my extensive collection of
fossils along with hand-held photos to
educate and entertain the audience.  This
show is perfect for schools, small libraries and
small museums who don't have formal
presentation systems.  To date over 3500
people in Utah and Nevada have enjoyed this
show.  (If your facility does have a projector
system and you'd still like this show don't
worry.  I can do a multimedia version as well.)
"Dinosaurs of the Southwest"
Ages:  All Ages
Time:  30 - 120 minutes, depending on your
needs.

Specifically developed for schools, museums
and libraries in my neck of the woods, I step
through the major types of dinosaurs found in
the SW USA.
"Ice Age Critters"
Ages:  All Ages
Time:  30- 60 minutes depending on your
needs

Las Vegas is known for Slot Machines,
Showgirls, Neon Lights and Elvis, but it's not
known for its dinosaurs.  It is the site of many
Ice Age animals though.  In this lecture I
discuss many of the major Ice Age animals
from North America and Eurasia.  We had
these critters throughout the USA so if you'd
like to know about the 13-foot tall elephant that
used to live in your back yard just ask about
this show.

"What is NOT a Dinosaur."
Ages:  All Ages (In fact the parents often need
this info more than the kids do).
Time:  About 45 minutes

A LOT of people mis-identify any and all
prehistoric creatures as dinosaurs.  Many
people will even call some modern animals
dinosaurs.  Well they're wrong.  Dinosaurs
were a very specific type of animal and in this
show I go through the major important
prehistoric animals and discuss why they are
NOT dinosaurs.  A famous singer makes a
cameo appearance in this show!!
"Cap'n Dave's Bug Hunt"
Ages:  All Ages, but best for 8 on up
Time:  It's up to you

My friend Dr. Steve Rowland of UNLV took me
to a really cool site outside of Las Vegas to
find Cambrian (about 530,000,000 years ago)
trilobites and other invertebrates.  I am now
offering field trips to this site for your group.
It's easy to get to and every person attending
is guaranteed to find fossils.

I'll provide the expertise and teach your group
about the animals at the site and how to dig
them up and recognize them.  Your group is
responsible for watching the kids.  Cap'n
Dave's Dinosaur Lectures & Shows, LLC and
Cap'n Dave Eisenstein is not responsible for
the safety of attendees.   Attendees will have
to sign release forms.

Contact me if you're interested in digging up
some bugs.
